My husband and I and our 11- and 12-year old daughters had a surf lesson with Kala and Kekai on our first day of our vacation - they were both very fun, very skilled, and all four of us were able to have a great surfing experience! They made it so much easier by pinpointing the best location to meet that day for the optimal waves, gave clear instruction and they were very patient and very sweet. Go at the beginning of your trip because you'll want to go back again, like we did! We'll be calling Kala and Kekai to schedule surf lessons again the next time we are back on the North Shore - hopefully SOON!

Highly recommend. Kekai and his brother Kala are excellent surf instructors. They are quick to respond, personable while professional and also give you the "local" surfing experience. Would love to go back out on the water with them !

Kekai and his brother did an incredible job working with my group of 6, which ranged across many skill levels. I've taken several surf lessons on various parts of the island but this by far blew the rest out of the water, quite literally. Each member of my party got up and surfing, which was a feat of its own. They gave great instructions which allowed us each to excel quickly. Additionally, they're wicked nice guys (we're from new england). Super easy to just spend an afternoon learning to surf with. Felt like they were part of our crew. If I ever make it back to haleiwa, I'm definitely surfing with them again!

My wife and I had a great time at our Stand Up Paddle Board lesson. We were here on our baby moon and our instructor gave us a great tour! We went on a gorgeous canal so the water was calm and perfect for our situation. Highly recommended! Affordable and great prices too! (Dec, 2016)

My 17 year old Daughter and 8 year old son had the best surf lesson ever! They were very reasonably priced and so willing to work with our time frame. We tried to book with other surf lesson companies but they couldn't work with our schedule, while my daughter and son were surfing the other companies showed up with their 5 to 6 clients in tow. It was great to see the difference between these companies as my children received more instruction time than the other groups. My son got up nearly every time and now wants to be a surfer, my daughter said he was very patient and would always give her pointers that would help her get the hang of it. great over all experience. We came to stay at Turtle Bay and checked out some options for surf lessons. We are beginner-intermediate surfers. We found Kekai and he was offering lessons for around half the price of most other options.
He's a great bloke and very relatable. He took us to a great local spot and gave us lots of tips on surfing conditions etc.
We would highly recommend him to everyone! (Jun. 2016)
